What is Temple Run?
Temple Run is a pretty straight forward game, that being said, it does take a while to become pro. The aim of the game is to run as far as you can, without dropping into an ever-continuing embankment of water or falling into fire; wood or a gap.
There's no real bad guys on Temple Run except the evil masked monkeys [of Agrinthorn], who will chase you if you slip up - and eat you if you slip up again. These guys wear off after a while though - but do continue to chase you.
The real headache are all the barrages of blockades, patched throughout the game. There are four main ones:
- Firewalls - You either slide below them or jump over. Fire burns.
- Wood-slips - If you hit these, you trip but don't die. If you trip again when the monkeys are behind you, they eat you...for supper.
- Wood-walls - Got to slide below these, they seem to be endlessly high. Smacking off them will result in death.
- The Endless Water - Basically, you need to turn 90 degrees every time you come to a turning. You can do this by flicking the screen. Failure to do so will result in you bathing in the water. Forever.
To help you along the way, there are some lovely little packages you can pick up. You can also collect coins, which may go towards new, more adventurous characters; boosts; health regenerations and better packages.
These are all the power ups:
- Big-Coin - If you get this, you get a sudden influx of money.
- Magnet - All coins that you see come flying to you, whilst this package is on. If upgraded, the coins will become more valuable too.
- Invisibility - You can walk through fire, wood and do anything. But you must resist the water.
- Speed/Invisibility - This gives you a boost in speed, then a little invisibility.

Okay, there are a few tips I've learned along the way, that I rigorously deploy to achieve the greatest scores.
- Score > Coins - When you start getting a good score, forget about coins. Focus only on achieving a higher score. The coins will come if you keep running. Basically, don't push your runner to one side of the game, keep him in the centre.
- Double Jump - Sometimes, you will find that when you're running you're faced with the hard task of double jumping. This involves hoping twice between gaps. Usually, you're allowed one second to flick twice, or you fall into the water. Diligence is what you need, to be able to quickly understand you must jump twice.
- Slide-Hop-Slide - Basically, sometimes you will slide through a barrier, then there will be a gap straight after. Do not fear! You can hop straight after you slide and your character will tenaciously jump from his sliding position.
- Danger, High Speeds - After you've used the speed upgrade you will have a few seconds with invisibility and normal speed. During this time, the game may automatically move you around the board, to fit their needs. If you're too hectic and move your player when he is still in invisibility, the game may glitch and you will be sent into the water. It's better if you just wait until invisibility is completely eradicated, then you start playing.
- Coin collector - In the first 3000 meters, it's easier to collect coins and will get you at least 300 each round. I would try to get every coin, before it gets too hard. Collecting coins will also add to your total score.
- Speeds - You can purchase high-speed for an [amount] of coins, I think it's 2500 for the small-speed and 10000 for the large. They're pointless and once you've finished you're running faster than you would be at regular pace, so technically, you'll be gaining more speed than you usually would.

Resurrect is part of the game, not really a cheat. It is sometimes hard to get it going, I agree, but its not that distracting to do it. Very decent game overall. I prefer is over anything else iPhone's got right now, even Angry Birds
I didn't say it was a cheat, even though resurrect is like juggernaut, only noobs use it. Its distracting as well, I think.

Without resurrect, you can't get high scores. If I didn't use resurrects, I would never have gotten 30 million.
Resurrects are key to high scores, since the game gets faster and faster. Resurrects slow the speed of the man/woman running, making it easier to maneuver the obstacles and obtain coins.
Not in my view, unless you've got an extra thumb, I find you're always put off by resurrect. I made it to 45 million without resurrect.
Thanks for the tip set. I didn't know you could jump from a slide - that kept killing me once I got to the 4k mark (that and my 'not clear' swipes which have me jump instead of turn).
Any idea what the characters are for?
I believe the characters are just to mix the game up a little - I do not believe it has any effect on pointing.

They make you more coin. You have to avoid the end of pathways.

Oh, cool, thanks. Also I have this problem when I'm playing, that I press my palm against the edge of the screen and it keeps pausing by accident. Do you know any way that you can change it so that the pause button is on the left side of the screen?

Im trying to do the 1000m 'Allergic to gold' run without collecting any coins and it is really hard - I can avoid the ones on the sides, but when you turn a corner and they are right in front of you it is hard. Anyone found a 'map' (left, right, right, left lol) for the easiest way to do it? I am 50, female and totally addicted to Temple Run!!!
Its pretty easy, you just need to get used to dodging coins; instead of grabbing them

BlahPL, to double resurrect first you have to resurrect once (before u resurrect there should be wings under your score) after u resurrect once you have to wait a little bit before the wings show up again.

i have found out that if u dont go for the powerups then after about 2000 meters it automatically doubles your score!!!!!!!!!! its freakin awesome! lol
I have played temple run for a couple weeks now. And I have found a couple cheats. I have found that if you turn right at every turn and get every coin it will extremely increase your score. I have also found that if you turn left, then right, then right, then left, then left, left left, left, and then slide 4 times in a row. Jump twice it will glitch out and give you 2 million bonus. I did this and played for 13 hours straight, my new high score is 11,763,820

New cheat for ya'll. If you get a magnet powerup, and then turn left then jump twice, turn left again, jump twice again. then turn right at the next available turns, then slide 6 times, then left, right left, left, left then slide 6 times, then turn left the next 8 turns, then jump, slide,jump, jump slide, ur score will glitch and quadrouple. My new high score iz 23,743,069. LEGIT!

I love temple run! My one friend told me about it, and the sec I got home, it was on my iPad!! It's so very addicting. I'm sick @ home, but that just gives me more temple time. Even though I spend some of my time on Netflix. I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!! :D

How do you get the double resurrection?
Resurrect, wait, resurrect again...
Its pretty easy.. Buy like 50 resurect before starting a game and keep using it. When the wings start flashing, kill yourself so you start running slowly again.
I find that coins=score. Having only the coin magnet power up and the triple coin after 2000 meters power up, I'm able to get 9 coins per individual coin if I'm past 2000 meters and have a power up. The coin magnet is the only icon that appears, so I can get large quantities of coins at any given time. This drastically increases your score. My current high score is 18mil points and best coin count in a game is 30k. Coins also enable you to get resurrects, which are extremely helpful.

I don't know of any way to get more power ups to show....idk if this was mentioned earlier, but you can turn a corner while in a jump...just swipe in the air...useful I guess when you start going a thousand miles an hour.
Okay, so I first played this game on my cousin's iPhone 4. On my iPhone (3rd generation), it wouldn't install correctly on Installous, so I downloaded it off of the App Store using my brother's Apple ID. For some reason I can easily score an 80,000 points in the first about 2 minutes. On here, it's very rare when I get over that. My average score is 40,000 and below, is there a difference between iPhone generations or iPods? I mean, I like being challenged, but it's just different and I feel like a sore loser when my cousin and I compare scores since she doesn't believe me when I say that mine is harder. Her screen is smoother and her game has more vibrant colors. Sooo. Yeah. Haha. Thanks!(:

OMG I hate resurrect because I never use it properly and I always double tap by accident early in the game, which just wastes my 500 coins. It doesn't really matter though, because I bought everything so now I have tonnes of coins.

The easiest way to maximise your top score is: Unlock all the powerups and get them maxed out. Then try running 1,000 meters without collecting a coin. These two sets of objectives give you such a large amount of score multipliers.
Now delete the app Temple Run and re-install it. Now, ONLY upgrade and max out magnet and double/triple coin power ups. Why? Because all the other power ups are truly useless if you want a high score. Now, don't upgrade any of the other power ups EVER. Keep doing the objectives and soon you'll hit 46x multiplier. I currently have a score of 13 million.
Resurrections are needed because sometimes some scenarios are actually impossible. Good luck and enjoy :)

How do I reset the score? I've deleted it and reinstalled which took all the coins and power ups but left the objectives and score. I also set up a new random account but still won't start at the beginning?

I mean just start over with the high score and everything. My boyfriend played it the day I finally got my iPhone and got to 2 million and a ton of the objectives. Kind of takes the fun out if it for me, since it's new to me

Im playing this game quite some time now and I noticed a strange sound in the game. It kinda sounds like a very low frequency beep, and it comes randomly when hitting a blue bridge when in invisibillity mode. Anyone know what it means?
No idea :S might just be a hardware fault with your iPod/Phone speakers.
I actually doubt that, it only happens when I hit the blue bridge, and then yet, with a small chance. I experience it roughly once in 10 runs or so. Strange i´m the only one who hears it :\

I love temple run. It is hard but FUN!!!! My friend and I are always beating each other's high scores which is good because competition ALWAYS gets the best out of you :) I suggest that with all of you who like playing temple run.
I was reading the comments and...13 MILLION IS THE AVERAGE SCORE????? WHATTTT!!!! I thought 1 million or 2 is the average but... 13?!?! My highest score is 5 million and a half. It will be HARD to get over 5 million.

Temple run is really cool. It runs very well with samsung galaxy android phone. I`am addicted , but after playing now for about two weeks my highest score is 1.3 M. and it`s getting really hard. Thanks for the tips here. BTW I got the gold allergy without knowing it. Happens to me at the first days of playing , was a nice surprise. Any idea when the wallpapers will be availible ?

I've only been playing for two days so my highest score is only 125,000. The biggest reason I can't seem to get past that is that I can't seem turn properly when on the wooden or narrow stone paths. I fall off almost every time. I don't know if it's just because I'm new or its my tablet that doesn't register the turns properly (I've eveb changed the sensitivity) or if I'm doing something wrong.
Did you have this problem when you first started? Is there something specific I should be doing differently on those turns? I seem to fall off 90% of the time and it's driving me crazy!
