How to Infect Madagascar on Pandemic 2

This is just an easy guide on how to infect the world of Pandemic 2, an online game created by Kongregate. The game involves you developing an infection, which will spread to every reach of the globe, never faulting or failing.

Your biggest problem in the game is the humans noticing the virus, once they've notice, they'll begin to stop the spread by shutting down air/water and taking people out of work/school. Madagascar only has one port to get in and out of the island, if the infection does not spread in time, Madagascar will close the port, and thus the game will never be 100% completed.

This is just a step-by-step guide, don't bug me if you seem to have failed at first go, because it took me four goes before I completed it. If you're continuing to have problems winning, message me and I'll check to see if you're doning something wrong.

Your pandemic, if seen by humans as destructive, will be instantly contained and destroyed, it's inevitable. As you plod along, you may want to "get a cool virus", but that'll obviously be noticeable, which will stop you from winning.

Okay, first thing - Realistic > Virus > Type Disease Name. Then make sure your disease starts in Greenland, Madagascar, New Zealand or Cuba. Not having the disease in one of those countries will make it harder for you to proceed, because they're islands and islands normally have quick security measures against diseases from the outside world.

You'll probably get a disease type, for example: coughing. Sell that, it's too noticeable for the build-up of the disease. You don't want any symptoms! When you've got the points, make it rodent, insect, water-borne & airborne. Put the Drug to 1; Moisture to 1; Heat to 1 & Cold to 1, this will spread the infection around the globe.

Waiting is probably the best option now, no need to rush into destroying the world. You'll soon see your virus going into every country, followed by governments shutting down places to keep their citizens safe. Keep a check on your 'World' graph, telling you which countries have the virus and which don't.

Once you've got all countries infected (see right to check), start giving your virus a bit of bulk. Firstly, buy the first tier of symptoms, then buy three-four of the second tier. This will boost up the infection and make it more harmful to people. It'll also start taking away the population, instead of just "illing" it. The governments may start burning bodies, having curfews & creating martial law to prevent citizens from spreading the disease.

Your map should start to go blood red (check right again) and countries should be in frantic over what to do. Many will close all borders, but that's okay, you've infected everyone now, (I should say, if you haven't, start again!) so all you need is the virus to become more and more contagious, to the point that nothing can stop it.

The Vaccine:

There's always one kid that cannot just go along with the playground fun. Scientists around the world will start developing a vaccine a touch before the virus spreads worldwide. You'll not get the vaccine deployment straight away, but as soon as it happens you better be ready to advance your virus on, so it can defeat the vaccine. I'd recommend not "upping" the levels of your Drug, Moisture, Hot & Cold - keep them at two, so when the vaccine arrives you can make your virus much more stronger against humans.

Established in all countries, but you ain't finished yet! The vaccine probably won't of hit, yet. So be careful what you spend your hard earned virus points on. Maybe throw your virus into tier 3, which'll make the virus much more deadly against humans. Near to all countries will have any solution in effect, and almost all public places closed. Look at China (right) it is doing everything it can to stop the virus, yet it still kills thousands per day. Why? The infection beats the solutions - you must keep it that way, or you'll falter and your virus will die like the plague. If your countries are suffering from illness but not death your virus isn't lethal enough, you'll need to upgrade your symptoms.

Check your 'World' graph out again, once you have no healthy population, you must wait till the vaccine. Collect up your virus points, they'll be gold once it hits. Watch your virus in various parts of the world, it shouldn't differ or slower, if it does, boost it's lethality - I'd suggest sticking to tier 3 though, only use tier four when the vaccine comes in. It make take around 10-30 minutes before you're even onto the vaccine stage, I'd advise getting something to eat in the meantime. Oh, the vaccine sometimes doesn't come as well, meaning you can just wait till the population is null then cheer yourself to sleep - but this will, again, take around 10-30 minutes.

Once you've got the 'There are no signs of life on ____________' message, you can start using tier 4, as it's quite impossible for a vaccine to be administered now. Tier 4 is the strongest, deadliest set of symptoms, with it, you can destroy what remains of the inapt population.

There will be no surge in virus points, so you must wait, it is tiresome, points can take around 10 minutes before hitting 20. Make sure you keep off the virus if need be, don't spend points which are useless, as they will make you have non when you might need them (late vaccine).

Keep track of the life on your planet, look at the message bar - if it has something along the lines of mine (right) then you'll surely be on the right track to success.

Once all the population has depleted, you'll be relieved of your duty and told you've won. You're given a high-score and will be able to send it to Kongregate.
