Doodle Jump Tips

Doodle-Jump really does scream out to all arcade fans who have a smart-phone. The game is lively, easy to learn and unbelievably hard, the higher you get!
Can you truly master Doodle-Jump?
Since there is no stop, Doodle-jump (as far as I know) cannot truly be 'mastered'. That being said, you can become so good on the game its near to impossible to stop you.
What's your worst boost?

- Comfortable Positioning - Doodle Jump will move at an angle corresponding to where you're sitting/standing. If you're holding your phone up straight, the Doodler will not move fast and will fly at weird angles. If you're lying face down this will still occur. You need to get your phone in a comfortable position so it makes the doodler more quick and allows simple & complex movements.
- Shoot. Now!! - Shooting at the monsters and UFO's not only gets harder as the game progresses, but it requires more tactics and manoeuvring. It's vital that you watch for signs, such as: 'Wait, don't shoot!' and opportunities where you can use monsters to your advantage. Try to always use less than four shots when attacking a monster. If you tend to spray your bullets everywhere until past the monster, this may again take you off balance and knock you off track.
- There are NO Walls - Sometimes, gamers believe that if they move their doodler outside the phone, they will immediately lose. This is not the case for Doodle Jump, where the player will simply move to the opposite side of the game. There is no downfall or loss if you stray off the map either, you should use this to your advantage. Nearer 40,000 points you will need to start embracing the idea of jumping to the other side, as it may save your life more than once. When on clouds or blue bricks, jumping onto the other side may give you a half second thought of strategy or tactics - which should help you.
- When Times on Your Side, Take it's help. - More for the later stages of the game. You will find that green blocks become less visible; as there is more blue bricks and difficult stages. With this, you will notice that stopping for a break or even just thinking of what to do next, is a pain. When the opportunity comes to sit on a green brick for a while, take it! As long as your facing your phone forward without tilting the doodler, he will remain on the block.
- Monsters are bouncy-castles! - Killing monsters is fun. Period. This can save you quite a lot of energy, but what you've got to remember is that if you can get past monsters, they're like trampolines: bouncy. Obviously, you don't want to try to get past every single monster in the game, that is ludicrous, monsters are evil and strong. Occasionally you will find yourself pushing past them, when you do, give them a bounce.
- If I had a nickel for every-time that happened... - Pro Doodlers don't just happen overnight. If you're a "giver-uper" you're less likely to achieve a high-score. Doodle Jump takes time and skill to master. The main factors of success are: movement; aim; bounce; practice. Having good control, good aim, clever bounce and months of practice will eventually pay off!
- Blue brick, blue brick, blue brick x20. - In the later times, around 30,000 - 40,000 points, you'll experience a hefty amount of blue bricks. These speed up their movement higher you get. The main idea of this is to make you pick a brick to land on, then miss it due to the speed - damn Doodle Jump creators and their evil brick-floating-moving schemes!
- The Clouds aren't Cushions - The clouds will not stay and wait for you to fall back down. They flatten into thin air as soon as you hit one! The idea of clouds is to jump then move on, just like explosive bricks.
- Rockets, Trampolines & all the in-betweens - Springs give a small boost, normally found on green bricks in the lower levels; Trampolines obtain a larger boost then springs but put you off balance; Spring-bouncing-machine are like a pogo stick, you get around five bounces with this boost; the flying hat gives around 1600 more score when used, defends against monsters; the Rocket gives around 4000 more score
- Music helps everything! - Having a nice flow of music helps, always. True story.

My current High Score is nearly 74,000 points. A week before I got that, my High Score was about 42,000. In between my High Scores where 50,000 and 57,000.
Anyway, I played about 20 hours of Doodle Jump that week. I said to me and my friend, " I'll bet if we play Doodle Jump just a little every day, after a while, we'll both be really good."
This was about a week and a half ago. He can now get 20,000 with relative ease, before he struggled and his High Score was 37,000. It still is, but all his lower scores have been demolished, making his High Scores page look a little better.
Anyway, in the past ~600 games I've played since then, I've found practive is very helpful. There are a few tricks to instantly improve your score, but you have to practice to improve that.
I said I plan to have at least 100,000 as a High Score by the end of 2011, about 2 and a half weeks.
Great info! Very detailed. My current highscore is over 130'000 (lowest over 60'000) so who knows what ill get with these tips. Thanks :)
